Facts: More closely related to the cucumber than the watermelon, Cantaloupe melons are very flavoursome with a lovely aromatic fragrance. They have a round shape with bumpy skin and orange flesh.
Storage: Eat soon after purchase. If refrigerating, store in an airtight container as they absorb strong odours.
Preparation and cooking: Wash before use, then cut in half and remove the seeds. Great as a starter, perhaps with parma ham, or cut up in a salad.
