Facts: A large, knobbly root vegetable. It is from the celery family and tastes quite similar, but has a slightly nutty, milder and sweeter taste. It is also known as celery root, turnip-rooted celery or knob celery (cue the 'Carry On' style titters!)
Allergen: Celeriac can induce allergic reactions
Storage:Keep in the fridge in a plastic bag.
Preparation & Cooking: Wash before use. Cut off the top and bottom of the celeriac then peel. Celeriac can be eaten raw in thin slices, or can be cooked and mashed. It can also be used to flavour soups and stews or can be used in casseroles and gratins. It can also be roasted like a potato.
