Facts:Carrots are a taproot vegetable that grows downwards into the soil and then swells. They come in many sizes and shapes: round, cylindrical, fat, small, long or thin. Whilst native to Afghanistan it was the Dutch who took the the original red, purple, black, yellow, and white varieties and grew them in to the bright orange, carrot we know today!
Storage:Best kept in the fridge.
Preparation & Cooking: RInse under a cold running tap and cut off the stalks. Can be eaten raw or cooked - lightly boiled and served with butter, steamed, roasted or simply grated raw onto a salad.
