Facts: The word pumpkin originates from the word pepon, which is Greek for “large melon". The French adapted this word to pompon, which we changed to pumpion and later the Americans changed that to the word we use today, "pumpkin". Simple really :-)!
Storage: Keep in a cool place.
Preparation and cooking: Stir meltingly sweet cubes of fried pumpkin into risottos or curries or why not try pumpkin soup or pumpkin pie.
