Facts: Originating from the West Indies, Grapefruits are an ancestor of the pomelo fruit. Pomelo fruits were borne in clusters, which led to the name "grapefruit". However, in the mid 1700's, grapefruits were given the name "Forbidden Fruit" - sounds scary! Grapefruits are very low in cholesterol, saturated fats and sodium.
Storage: Store at room temperature for about a week.
Preparation and cooking: Cut in half and eat from the skin, or use segments in salads, desserts, drinks and cooking.
