Facts: Sage is a member of the mint family and has greyish-green leaves. It is traditionally associated with long life. The Romans used sage as a meat preservative and memory enhancer. It was also used to clean ulcers and sores, stop wounds bleeding and cure sore throats. It is also an old tried and trusted remedy for drying up breast milk!
Storage: Best kept in the fridge, wrapped in damp paper towels.
Preparation and cooking: Rinse before use. Great for use in tomato sauces, pizzas, omelettes, fritatas, salads, stuffing, flash-fried as a topping for risotto, in soups and stews.
