Facts: Oak Leaf Lettuce, so called because the leaves resemble oak leaves, is another loose leafed lettuce with attractive serrated deep green leaves that are sometimes tinged with red.
Storage: Keep in the salad drawer of the fridge for 2-3 days.
Preparation and cooking: Must be washed thoroughly but quickly so that the leaves retain their nutrients. Revitalise any wilted leaves by dipping them in warm water then rinsing under cold water. This lettuce goes well with most salad dressings.
