Facts: Cos Lettuce (also known as Romaine lettuce) is a long, almost oblong shaped lettuce. The leaves are quite thick and firm, with a central stem.
Storage: Keep in the salad drawer.
Preparation and cooking: Wash before use. The outer leaves can be slightly bitter, but the inner leaves are sweeter and more delicate in appearance. Use them in salads, or in stir-frys.
